This is great! I know that my daughter, Kendra, would love to take classes. How does she go about registering?

I would like more information on the idream classes–how to sign up? My daughter will be graduating from Eagle High this month–that world after high school seems like a black hole to us right now. She is learning disabled, has been very successful in many of her mainstream classes, some with support, just depending on the class. While she wants to go to college, she doesn’t have some of the required classes or the standardized test scores necessary for a 4 year school. She was thinking about taking a couple of classes at CWI this fall, but I am a bit concerned as to whether she would actually be able to keep up with the pace. These summer classes may be a good way to get some college experience before she actually tries to pursue her dreams of college…and may be a great way for her to make some new friends…..please give me more details as to where and when to sign up….also, with regard to CWI’s regular curriculum, would you have any ideas as to which classes might be the best for someone just wanting to try college? A basic English class? A personal finance class?

    Hi Joan,
Moving into adult hood is scary for our kids. I know the feeling. That is why I am working on iDream.
If she can pass the tests to get in as a regular student, pick something she is good at to start with. Is she strong in English, or math? I would like Becky to try Speech 101, but she can not pass the required tests. I hope in the future to change that, but for now, here are your options:
Non Credit seeking students can go to ANY class without the required tests. Maybe try one…
They have remedial classes for those students who do not pass the required tests, and we may incorporate those into iDream eventually.
Community Ed classes are what Becky has taken. They are non-credit, easy interesting classes for the community. They are shorter than a semester and not too expensive. This is where we started iDream. Your daughter may want to take a regular community ed class outside of idream.
We are hoping to offer many levels of classes in iDream in the future. My goal is that these kids have the college experience and learn something along the way. It sure beats developmental centers!
Please write to me if I can be of any other help. writeapage@gmail.com
